Getting to Tokyo from Narita airport

Narita airport is approximately 72.3 km away from central Tokyo. Fortunately there are several ways to get to the city. The fastest and easiest is taking the very fast N’EX train from the airport (all terminals will connect) and will take 53 minutes. The ticket is 4000 JPN. The train runs every 30 mins and you can buy the tickets at the platform. It will make stops at Tokyo Station, Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Yokohama station.

The other train is the Skyliner Narita Express. It is direct train service from Narita Airport Terminals 1, 2, and 3 on the Keisei Line to Ueno Station or Nippori Station. This journey takes 41 minutes and costs 2580JPN.

The other cheaper alternative is Airport Limousine bus. This takes approximately 90 minutes and will go through the countryside and highways. A great way to see surrounding Tokyo! It costs between 2500-3600 hundred depending on your final destination. It leaves for Shinjuku station4-6 times an hour and twice every hour for Ginza.

Taxis are available but will run around 35000JPN.

Getting to Tokyo from Haneda Airport

Haneda is the city airport of Tokyo and is only 26 km from central Tokyo. In other words, you can be anywhere in Tokyo in 30 mins flat. The best way to and back from Haneda airport is to take the monorail. The beauty of the train is that it goes right inside the airport so there is no getting lost. The cost for the monorail is 500JPN and you can catch it Hamamatsucho station to Haneda. It runs every 3-5 mins and runs from 5.00am to 11.30pm.

The Airport Limousine service also exists for Haneda and costs between 930-2200JPN, depending on your station. The Airport Limousine will do picks up at all major Tokyo hotels, but you will need to check with your hotel for exact timings for pick up and drop off.
