why did nabisco stop making ideal cookies?

This was a huge part of my childhood and teen years for my siblings and parents. Even though they were a little pricey compared to other cookies my mom always bought them because she knew how much I loved them. It seemed to make the enjoyment last longer. I recall that from late 60's to late 70's my mom would buy the cheap "kiddie" cookies for us, and Ideal Peanut Butter Bars for herself, which she would keep in the fridge.
