Specialty Food Kaiseki Riyori

Kaiseki riyori is essentially traditional high end Japanese food or haute cuisine that is made form what is in season. The chef is aiming to highlight the best of the season through food. It has several courses ranging from small starters to mains to deserts. Served in small beautiful ceramic dishes, the presentation is as much part of the meal as the food. It can be best understood a tasting course. Usually, the course are in the order of appetizers, soup, steamed dishes, main course of fish, beef or other, sashimi, a rice course and dessert. Because it’s a tasting menu, the portions are small.

Because kaiseki riyori is very traditional , it is usually that you will be on your best behaviour and follow all etiquette rules and Japanese traditions of using chopsticks properly and adhering to the rules of the resto.
